Q: The Best Time to Start Saving?

The question isn’t IF you should start saving but WHEN. And the answer to that…we’re about to make it real easy for you. The best time to start saving is now! Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. (Well, maybe collect $200.) The hardest part truly is getting started, so just jump out of the plane. Because the sooner you start developing the habit, the sooner it becomes second nature.

Pay yourself first

Don’t wait until the end of the month to see how much you have leftover to save. Pay yourself like you pay the government. Taxes come right off the top of your paycheck and so should your savings. Decide on an amount you can afford to each paycheck and start setting it aside. Even if it’s $15. Even if it’s only $5. You probably won’t miss it. And the payback is worth every penny.
